Toronto is known as the most populated cities in Canada and is the provincial capital of Ontario, Canada.  Located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario you will find Toronto which is home to over 2.5 million residents.  This makes it the fifth most populated cities in all of North America.  Toronto is located within the heart of the Greater Toronto Area and is apart of the region of Southern Ontario, commonly referred to as the Golden Horseshoe.  This puts its residents within close assess to everything they could possibly wish to have.



Toronto is known as a global city as it is Canada’s economic capital and one of the top financial centers in the world.  Toronto leads economic sectors in the areas of finance, business services, aerospace, transportation, media, telecommunication, arts, television production, film, publishing, medical research, software production, tourism, education and the sports industries.  It is also home to the Toronto Stock Exchange, which are the world’s seventh largest stock exchanges out there.

The population of Toronto consists of it’s cosmopolitan and international residents.  This reflects its role as an important destination for immigrants to the area.  Toronto provides one of the most diverse cities as its population consists of 49% born outside of Canada.  It is rated one of the most livable Toronto homes by the Economist Intelligence Unit and the Mercer Quality of Living Survey.  This is due to the city’s low crime rates, high standards of living, friendly attitudes and it’s clean environment.  It has also been ranked as the most expensive Canadian cities in which to live in.
